Australian Jazz/Soul diva Lily Dior returns to the 505 stage for a special one off performance after having spent the past three years wowing audiences in London and Europe. Gifted with a rich expressive and versatile voice Lily has drawn comparisons in the UK to Cleo Laine and is a regular at top London Jazz venues The 606 Club, Pizza Express and Ronnie Scott’s.
Discovered by the late great bassist Jackie Orszaczky as a teenager, performing a show she wrote and produced on the life of Billie Holiday, Lily became a seminal member of Sydney’s hottest Soul/Funk outfit, ‘The Godmothers’, wowing audiences with her electric stage presence and powerful voice.
Lily has performed at major festivals across Australia and New Zealand including the Sydney Festival, Melbourne International Arts Festival, Wellington International Jazz Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Christchurch Jazz Festival, Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, and the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz where she placed second at The National Jazz Awards led by a panel of international judges including Kurt Elling, Laurence Hobgood, and Sheila Jordan.
